What are Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)? ADLs many of us have never heard of this term. The acronym ADL is very familiar with caregivers of the elderly, nursing one back to health and those with diminished physical capacity. Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Activities of daily living are activities related to personal care. They include bathing or showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating.
